A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain in Kwara State, Alhaji Yaman Abdullahi, says the present administration of Governor Bukola Saraki has laid a solid foundation for industries to thrive in the state.

Abdullahi stated this while answering questions from newsmen in Ilorin.

He noted that the Shonga farm project and the good road network, particularly the Chikanda Kosubosu, the Ilorin township roads were projects that would boost the economic base of the state.

According to him, the people of Shonga where he hailed from had benefitted immensely from the commercial farming sited in the community, in the areas of employment, improved economy and knowledge in mechanized farming.

Answering another question on the provision of fertilizer to farmers, Abdullahi noted that this would be the first time the Federal Government would purchase about nine hundred thousand tones of the commodity, amounting to N83 billion, which according to him, would go a long way to boost next year’s farming.

He attributed the delay in the purchase of the commodity to change in the portfolio at the agriculture ministry.

Abdullahi appealed to politicians, particularly the PDP leadership to honour the issue of zoning, which he described as the party’s constitutional matter.
