The Ahionba of Benin kingdom, Chief John Osemede Adun, has been kidnapped by gunmen who invaded his house in Benin late Friday night. Adun, who is also the Managing Director of Bob Izua Transport Company Nigeria was reportedly abducted at about 9:00pm Friday night at his residence on Eheenede Street, off the popular Oba market road in the ancient capital city. Sources close to the family disclosed that about 18 armed men in military uniform stormed the imposing residential complex. The kidnappers came in an 18-seater bus in a commando style and whisked Adun away. The operation looked like he was being formally arrested by security agencies. It was also gathered that one of the chief?s aides whose name could not be ascertained as at press time was shot in the process as he attempted to protest the kidnap of his boss. The aide is presently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
